Is this just a "cap" to protect the pin which will remain fully open or is there something inside that we can't see that does open & close the pin. Answers1

It can be manually turned up and down to adjust how much it presses on the pin (open or close the valve). It is not thermostatic so will not move as the temperature rises/falls.

We are introducing a room thermostat. We currently have Honeywell VT117 type TRVs. We want to remove the valve heads but leave the valves in place set FULLY ON. Will these caps do this? I do not want "decorator's" caps that turn the valve fully off. Answers1
